Vein & Aesthetics Center of Tampa Bay offers phlebectomy to remove varicose veins that lie beneath the skin of the leg, which can not be treated by ablation.
What is phlebectomy?
Phlebectomy is a minimally invasive operation using a small scalpel or needle to remove unwanted varicose veins. Under local anesthesia, the unwanted vein is removed permanently, and no stitches are required afterward. The procedure is usually performed on the legs, but it can also remove varicose veins in other parts of the body. One of the advantages of phlebectomy is that it doesn't require a large incision or general anesthesia. This makes the recovery time shorter and less painful than traditional vein-stripping surgery.
